Enrica obtained her Master’s degree in Pharmacy and Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Ferrara (2016), where she worked on innovative drug delivery systems for antioxidant molecules. She then pursued a PhD in Nanoscience and Advanced Technologies at the University of Verona (2017–2021), focusing on biological barriers and the development of advanced in vitro and ex vivo models for preclinical studies.

After gaining experience as a Study Manager in a Contract Research Organization in Münster (Germany), where she began investigating the mitochondrial endocannabinoid system, she returned to academia in 2023 to study myospryn function in striated muscle at IRGB-CNR, Humanitas Clinical and Research Hospital in Milan.

Since 2023, Enrica has been enroled in Bottani’s lab at the University of Verona. Her current research explores mitochondrial metabolism as a therapeutic target for the Allan–Herndon–Dudley Syndrome (AHDS). Using both organoid and animal models, she investigates disease mechanisms and potential treatment strategies.

Alongside her research, Enrica plays a key role in the management of the lab, coordinating scientific activities, supervising students and PhD fellows, and contributing to the lab’s strategic development. Her experience, dedication, and team-oriented approach make her an essential member of our group.
